My new book, The Siege
of Kwennjurat, is scheduled for release seven days from now, and I feel
like celebrating. For the next seven days, I am giving away one signed book
each day. Here’s how to enter:
Making a comment on the blog gets you one entry. If you’re a
blog follower, say so for a second entry. Tweeting and sharing to Facebook or
Google+ are worth one entry each (post a link to where you shared in your
comment). First thing tomorrow morning, I will put all the entries in a hat and
draw a winner. I’ll announce the winner, and then they can email me their real
name and address, and their signed book will be on the way!
If you've already won, you can still enter. I have nothing against repeat winners.
Today I’m giving away a copy of Deadly Gamble. Since the murder victim in this suspense novel was a
gambler, tell me in your comments what was the biggest gamble you’ve ever made
in your life? It doesn’t have to be a money wager. See you tomorrow with a new
giveaway and the announcement of today’s winner.
I made a bid to buy a little business that was going to die -- and then when I won that bid (oh, my goodness, what now?!), I tried to keep it alive. It's a wonderful new gamble every day - some big and some small! :)

I'm glad you did, because I love your product. I only hope you like my product as well.
DeleteI bid on a horse...no one bid against me. I LOVE this horse! (good thing hey?)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the horse was a great thing to have in your life.
DeleteOops, I see I commented on the wrong post. Probably the biggest gamble I've made was when my husband got out of the military. We moved to Geogia with a newborn, little money, and no job, into an apartment sight unseen. We only had 2 family members in the state. Turned out to be a bad bet at the time, but as life would have it, we moved back to GA a few years later.
ReplyDeleteStarting out fresh and blind in a new city is a scary thing. I felt that way when I moved to Oklahoma City to go to school. Fortunately for me, although I didn't see it that way at the time, I flunked out of the school (by less than two points!) and ended up having an old friend drive me home to Arizona...a year later said friend and I were married.
DeleteYeah, us failing in GA the first time actually turned out to be a good thing in the long run as well. My husband picked up a/c at his next job which eventually led us to his current job, which he loves, most of the time anyway.
DeleteGiving up.roots
ReplyDeleteThat's always scary.
Deletehummmm ... the biggest gamble ..... I guess it was both a gamble and a major decision. It would have to be the decision to make a recent job move. It was a gamble because if I lost it would financial impact family, but since I have won (or at least so far), it has had many positive impacts on my family. My stress levels are reduced, I get to visit Arizona every once in awhile, and I am happy being part of a team.
ReplyDelete(I follow your blog already and I will share on facebook !)
Less stress is always good. So is visiting Arizona. I was so glad to get to meet you on your recent trip!
DeleteHmm, my biggest gamble is in a few months. My husband is getting out of the military and we still don't know if he will have a job.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with navigating your family through the rapids ahead!
DeleteMy biggest gamble was moving away from everything I knew to live in Denver. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Such is life.
ReplyDeleteAre you still in Denver, or have you returned to the life you knew? I'll bet you learned a lot during the process.
DeleteI guess the biggest gamble I've made was when I moved out of my parents house at 19 into an apartment with my best friend, her fiance, and another couple. It should have worked out great but I ended up doing temp work and I finally got a real job a few months before I moved again...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear things didn't work out, but good that things straightened out in the end.
DeleteMy biggest gamble was walking away from a great paying, but highly stressful job. I applied at a little local hardware store, making just over minimum wage. Went into great paying job the next day and walked away on the spot. 10 years later, I'm still at the hardware store, and still don't mind going to work every day!
ReplyDeleteWorking at an enjoyable job is definitely more important than making big money in a pressure cooker. Which is why I write - it is the best job I could ever have!
DeleteMy "biggest gamble" was when we decided to move to a different state without having a job set up. I went from having a pretty solid job to a lead that wound up in a THREE HOUR interview! Luckily they didn't hire me. They went out of business in about 6 months, and I did a few different things until I ended up working for a buisness that I later purchased, did very well with, the sold off all of the fixtures and inventory, semi-retired, and now work for the local school district while my children are all in college,,,,,so far they haven't needed to take out any loans....YEAH!!!
