My new book, The Siege
of Kwennjurat, is scheduled for release five days from now, and I feel like
celebrating. For the next five days, I am giving away one signed book each day.
Here’s how to enter:
Making a comment on the blog gets you one entry. If you’re a
blog follower, say so for a second entry. Tweeting and sharing to Facebook or
Google+ are worth one entry each (post a link to where you shared in your
comment). First thing tomorrow morning, I will put all the entries in a hat and
draw a winner. I’ll announce the winner, and then they can email me their real
name and address, and their signed book will be on the way!
Today I’m giving away the romantic suspense novel A Heart Full of Diamonds. In the book,
Marilee runs away from her husband when she finds out he’s going to have her
killed. In your comments, tell me about a time when you felt like running away.
See you tomorrow with a new giveaway and the announcement of today’s winner.
Ugh. When all THREE cars died in the same week (mine, hubby's and son's.) Horrible, horrible week a few months back.
ReplyDeleteIt's a terrible thing to be totally without transportation, especially in a society where the consciousness is that "everyone" has a car and "everyone" drives where and when they want.
DeleteI did run away. One night the kids were just chaos. Dinner was late, and not exactly wonderful, and hubby started teasing me about it. I put my shoes on, said "I've had it", grabbed my car keys and left. Admittedly, I was only gone long enough to grab a cup of coffee and drive for a couple of miles. But yeah, at 39, I ran away from home for the first time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good way to stay sane. I think everyone needs more "me" time than the "you're supposed to do things for others" guilt allows. Especially moms.
DeleteI wanted to run away at about the age of four when my older siblings (then 8 and 10)pooled their cash reserves and ran away from home. I was totally bummed to be left at home alone because I was too small to join them. They made it to the movies and were gone most of the day and evening. I can't remember how they got home or what the consequences were any more, but I sure remember being left behind and wanting to go with them!!
ReplyDeleteI think being left behind is a fear all humans share.
DeleteI feel like running away everyday when I'm at work. Does that count? ;)
ReplyDeleteIt does count, absolutley! Perhaps it's also a sign that you're in the wrong line of work?
